The Reins of Trust: Forging a Harmonious Relationship with Your Dragon
The Reins of Trust: Forging a Harmonious Relationship with Your Dragon
Trust as the Essential Rein
On the journey of becoming a dragon rider, more than just skill and courage is required. One of the most important reins you can use is trust. This particular rein not only strengthens the connection with your dragon, but also reinforces your self-confidence and belief in your own abilities. When you work on strengthening this rein, your dragon begins to trust you, fostering a more harmonious relationship between the two of you.
A Daily Journey of Distrust
Imagine for a moment that you've had an exhausting day at work. Tasks have piled up, deadlines are looming, and in the back of your mind, you feel that uncertainty pulsing like a drum. Upon arriving home, you face your dragon, which represents not only your emotions but also your deepest fears. "What if I can't handle it?" you ask yourself inwardly. With every doubt, you feel your dragon grow restless, soaring defensively.
Now, consider how much of that feeling of incapacity stems from a lack of trust. When despair invades your mind, your internal dialogue can become critical: "I'll never be able to do it." You realize that fear and insecurity are trying to dominate you, and in that tension, the dragon becomes agitated. Maybe you have felt this before; the day goes by, and instead of moving forward, you become stuck in your fears.
Listening to the Voice of Your Dragon
You are not alone in this struggle. We all have a dragon that sometimes roars louder than our self-confidence. This dragon is a vital part of us, representing our instinct and our automatic reactions. When you recognize that it's not about dominating this dragon, but rather dialoguing with it, the magic of growth begins. The pressure you feel is just a momentary fog, and if you learn to listen to your dragon, you can refine the relationship and move forward.
The Tool of the Trust Rein
To start working on this essential rein, it is important to practice the Trust Rein exercise. This exercise involves two clear steps. First, dedicate some time daily to reflect on your accomplishments. Make a list of everything you have achieved; acknowledge it. This practice reinforces your ability to trust yourself and your decisions.
Secondly, establish a small internal contract: "I trust in my ability to face the challenges that arise." As you repeat this mantra, you will notice a change in your communication with your dragon, transforming doubt into trust. In this way, you cultivate a bond of trust that will allow you to face any challenge with an uplifted spirit.
Deep Connection Exercise
Now that you have begun working with the Trust Rein, it is essential to perform an introspective exercise. Take a moment in silence and ask your dragon: "What do you need from me to trust that we can face any obstacle together?" Listen to what arises from within you. It may respond with fear, but by establishing this dialogue, you begin to dismantle the barriers preventing your dragon and you from moving forward together.
Closing: The Transformation of Your Relationship
As you practice this Trust Rein, you will visualize how the relationship between you and your dragon changes. Instead of seeing your dragon as an obstacle, you will perceive it as a flight companion. Mutual trust is established, and in this way, you may even find that your dragon begins to soar alongside you rather than drag you down.
